About the artist
Juanita Paulino
Juanita Paulino is a Canadian surrealist and abstract artist based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Working primarily in acrylics and oils, she creates vivid, textured compositions where surrealism meets abstraction — exploring colour, movement, emotion, and imagination.
Rooted in surrealism, her work uses layered surfaces and expressive brushwork to create a sense of depth and dimensionality. Across canvas, slate, and tile, Juanita's paintings invite viewers to look beyond the surface and find their own meaning within the forms, colours, and hidden pathways of each piece.
“I let my brush find its inspirational path to freedom.”
